As Senior Commercial Developer you will be responsible for the ongoing innovation of Autovia’s digital commercial portfolio.

What will you be doing?

Core responsibilities:

Writing clean, semantic code 

We like our stuff neat and tidy and we hope you do too. Best practices and modern standards are something you’ll strive for, bringing knowledge to the team to cultivate robust, clean, understandable and reusable code within the creative builds.

Collaboration & communication

Working effectively is all about working collaboratively. You’ll be communicating with multiple departments such as editorial, sales, design and the wider development team to offer innovative commercial solutions to challenging agency briefs. Acting as a key liaison for technical advice will be essential to this role.

Technical innovation

Building rich media creatives requires the use of cutting edge tools. As part of this role you’ll take ownership of our creative build stack ensuring that it is robust, flexible and feature rich. This includes the maintenance and enhancement of our library of Native and Rich Media templates in order to offer out of the box products to our clients.

Working as part of the development team we will look to you to facilitate discussion and provide solutions for commercial integrations without our in house web platform both in the short and long term.

Creative developer

Ad builds and integrations come in many different flavours, but one thing that remains constant is the demand for original, innovative and engaging creatives the draw users in. Advising stakeholders and using a data-driven approach to ensure each creative build reaches the widest possible audience will be your key tools in managing the high expectations of both the business and our clients. 

Problem Solving

Responding quickly to technical questions or support based enquiries from our AdOps and Sales Teams will be a day to day responsibility. Documenting and regular catch ups will be a core way of ensuring all of the teams you work with are fully on board with what you are doing and have everything they need to get the most out of the suite of creative tools we offer.

  • Excellent coding skills and best practice knowledge.
  • Strong hands on experience building innovative rich media creatives.
  • Deep understanding of modern JavaScript.
  • Strong experience with JavaScript libraries & frameworks.
  • Strong Experience with Google Ad Manager and Double Click Studio. 
  • Focus on end user performance optimization.
  • Responsive/Progressive enhancement methodologies.
  • Expert in HTML5, SASS, CSS and other web fundamentals.
  • Experience with task runners and build tools.
  • Knowledge of UX, UI and component driven development.
  • Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical people.
  • Working with clients and agencies as part of large scale commercial campaigns.
