– Land Rover Series I Station Wagon ‘Oxford’ voted Car of the Year 2020
The Historic Motoring Awards 2020 took place on Thursday 22nd October, and for the first time in its ten-year history the event was held virtually, allowing readers and industry leaders to watch along together.
Due to the disruption caused by the Covid-19 outbreak, some of the longstanding event categories had to be replaced in 2020. This allowed for some of the industry’s creativity over the past months to be rewarded in The Lockdown Initiative 2020, which was won by REVS-Limiter. It also gave some individuals in the industry the chance to shine with the introduction of Apprentice of the Year, won by Billy Strutt from P&A Wood, and Classic Car Ambassador of the Year, won by McKeel Hagerty.
The virtual event culminated in the announcement of the Car of the Year winner. The Car of the Year has always been decided by Octane readers but, with voting continuing through to the climax of this year’s event, it came to a dramatic conclusion as Land Rover Series I Station Wagon ‘Oxford’ was awarded the coveted title.
